『分詞の形容詞的用法』

『主格の関係代名詞＋be動詞』は省略できる。

This is a book and it was written by a famous writer.
= This is a book which was written by a famous writer.
= This is a book written by a famous writer.

82. My uncle has a dog. Its eyes are blue.
      My uncle has a dog ( which ) has blue eyes.

『所有格とhave』
・所有格で表された名詞を「have」を用いて書き換えできることがあります。
The dog’s eyes are blue.
= The dog has blue eyes.

My uncle has a dog and its eyes are blue.
= My uncle has a dog and it has blue eyes.
= My uncle has a dog which has blue eyes.

83. This is the bike.    It is used by my son.
      This is the bike ( used ) by my son.

『主格の関係代名詞＋be動詞』は省略できる。

This is the bike and it is used by my son.
= This is the bike which is used by my son.
= This is the bike used by my son.

84. The girl is standing by the door with a big bag. She is my friend.
      The girl ( who ) is standing by the door with a big bag is my friend.

・これは、前後の文を入れ替えてから、関係代名詞で１文にしたのですよ。

　 The girl is standing by the door with a big bag.    She is my friend.
→ The girl is my friend.    She is standing by the door with a big bag.
「先行詞が the girl として１文にします」
→ The girl and she is standing by the door with a big bag is my friend.
→ The girl who is standing by the door with a big bag is my friend,
→ The girl standing by the door with a big bag is my friend.

・分詞の形容詞的用法でも表現できますね。

85. My father could not work yesterday.
      My father was not ( able ) to work yesterday.
